Tuuletõkkeplaati kasutatakse hoonete välisseinte, lagede ja katuste konstruktsioonides tuulttõkestava, soojustava ja konstruktsiooni jäikust tõstva elemendina. Tuuletõkkeplaat kaitseb soojusisolatsiooni ilmastiku mõjude eest. Tänu tihedale struktuurile tõkestavad tuuletõkkeplaadid külma välisõhu juurdepääsu seina soojustuskihtidele, mis hoiab ära konst ruktsiooni jahtumise ning tagab, et soojustus toimiks efektiivselt. Tuuletõkkeplaat on vettpidav, kuid samas laseb ta hoonest eralduva veeauru ja õhu endast läbi. Seega paigaldatakse neid vahetult soojusisolatsioonile väliskihi peale. See tagab ehituskonstruktsioonide niiskusvahetuse ning väldib soojustuskihi märgumist. Plaatidel on piisav mehaaniline tugevus, mis võimaldab nende kasutamist konstruktsiooni jäikust tõstva elemendina. Mõõtmed on 12 x 1200 x 2700 mm.
